WATER SHAPES CANVAS

Over the course of the pandemic, I reflected even more deeply on home and its meaning: how the walls around us at once provide safety and create isolation; and how, for many, the fear of eviction grows daily. The shifts in my practice and my work reflect these fractured and uncertain times. Using the Water Shapes vocabulary, I paint on five-foot-square canvases cut into two-inch strips that, when installed outdoors, create ever-changing compositions in the wind, sunlight, and shadows.

The video is documentation of work in progress, not the final piece.
